Winterlude - Ottawa

This winter in Canada started off abnormally. It was relatively warm. Canadians were almost dissapointed that Winterlude was not to come this year. It is what they wait for in February.

But no worries, now it is like -30 degrees Celcius. Winterlude is on! People skating on the largest Ice Rink day and night, Ice sculptures are being worked on for the competition, People lined up waiting to eat beavertails...

This is the Canadian spirit. No Matter how freezing it is outside, come out and have some fun! listen to live band performances and watch some night laser/light shows...

La Ronde and Rollercoasters

At La Ronde

La Ronde, an amusement park on a small island in the river next to Montreal. To Americans, it's very much like Six Flags. It was a nice day, not too hot. Not too crowded. We got to hit most of the rollercoasters. And a couple of other random rides.

One of the best parts about Montreal is the mountain in the middle of the city. Covered by unspoiled forests, and paths winding to the top to provide scenic views of the city.

Things have been a little cloudy and chilly recently, but starting to clear up. We're still in jackets up here.

When the Formula 1 (also known as the Grand Prix) comes to Montreal, Rue St. Catherine (and others) is closed off to cars to make space for the massive influx of F1 fans.

There's drinking, there's dancing, there's partying, there's eating, there's poutine, and of course there's the Formula 1. - all in the true spirit of Montreal

In this 3 part photomentary, I'll take you through what to expect when the Grand Prix du Canada takes place on the 25th of June, 2006.

Pillow Fight

Despite the rain, a large crowd turned out for a pillow fight at Dorchester Square. This was in the spirit of the same pillow fights in Toronto and San Fransisco. While we didn't get the thousands of attendants they did, there was a reasonable turn out considering the weather.
